Hamid Reza Djalilian

Dr. Hamid Reza Djalilian, M.D. is a physician based in Long Beach, California. He is board certified in Neurotology and Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He did his graduation from University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis, MN. 1996. He did his internship in Preliminary Surgery from Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN in 1997. He did his Residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery from 1997 to 2001 at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. He received his Fellowship in Otology Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery from Minnesota Ear Head and Neck Clinic on June 2002. He also completed his Undergraduate studies and received a B.A. degree in Chemistry from Carleton College, Northfield, MN. in 1992. He has a CyberKnife Certification from CyberKnife Technical Training at Sunnyvale, CA. He holds the position of Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology and Biomedical Engineering in the Division of Neurotology and Skull Base and in Department of Otolaryngology -- Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California -- Irvine Medical Center. He was also the former Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA and Professor of Otolaryngology, Director of Division of Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was the recipient of American Neurotology Society 2nd Place Poster Award in 2016. He is the editor of the book 10 Minute ENT Consult, Plural Publishing. San Diego, CA. He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of California. Dr. Djalilian conducts research in several areas related to cochlear implants, acoustic neuroma, and chronic ear disease. Dr. Djalilian has developed several innovative devices for the treatment of hearing loss, imbalance, and tinnitus which are undergoing clinical trials.
