Dr. Gary Michael Gaukler is a professor of operations management and analytics with academic and research expertise in supply chain management, RFID and sensor systems, logistics, and inventory control. He is a Full Professor at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, where he has been a faculty member since 2013 and has served as Director of the Center for Supply Chain & Logistics since 2015. His academic work focuses on supply chain visibility, perishable goods management, and technology-enabled decision-making.

Dr. Gaukler earned his Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, with a concentration in production and operations management. He also holds a Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Earlier academic training was completed at Universität Karlsruhe in Germany. His doctoral dissertation examined RFID applications in supply chain management and was recognized by ProQuest as the top-selling operations management dissertation in 2007.

Prior to joining Claremont Graduate University, Dr. Gaukler held academic appointments at Texas A&M University, including Assistant Professor and Visiting Assistant Professor roles, and served as Director of the RFID and Supply Chain Systems Lab. His research has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings addressing supply chain performance, perishables, healthcare operations, and risk and security-related logistics.
