His clinical expertise includes patient care, education, health care leadership, emergency medical systems and clinical investigation in emergency medicine and toxicology. He has an active medical license from the state of Arizona and is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He earned his medical degree from University of Arizona College of Medicine at Tucson in the year 1997. He then completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and fellowship in Medical Toxicology from University of Arizona. He has served as vice-chair and medical director of the Department of Emergency Medicine, as well as chair of a physician-owned insurance company. He has also served as an expert for the state of Arizona in Pima county and has been a part of various public and private committees. He is currently the medical director of the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center, director of the Medical Toxicology fellowship and co-director of the Center for Toxicology and Pharmacology Education and Research at UA College of Medicine at Phoenix.
