Eric Michael Kaplan

Dr. Eric Michael Kaplan, M.D., is a board-certified psychiatrist and forensic psychiatry expert based in Florida with over three decades of experience in clinical psychiatry, behavioral health leadership, and forensic consultation. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1986 and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Emory University in 1982. He completed his psychiatric residency at the University of South Florida, where he served as Chief Resident from 1989 to 1990.

Dr. Kaplan currently serves as Medical Director for Behavioral Health Services at NeuLife Rehab in Mount Dora, Florida, and as Medical Director at Harmony Hills. He is also a Consultant Psychiatrist for the National Football League and serves on the Board of Directors of Father of Mine, Inc.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kaplan has held numerous leadership and consulting roles, including Chief Medical Officer and Consulting Psychiatrist at Lakeview Health, Consulting Psychiatrist for Wellfleet Insurance Company, and Medical Director of Behavioral Health for Guardian Life Insurance Company. He also served as a long-term Psychiatric Consultant to Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and Medical Director of Mental Health Services for Saint Augustine Health Care.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Kaplan was the Medical Director at Charter Hospital of Pasco, where he oversaw adult and substance dependence programs and chaired both the Quality Assurance and Patient Care Committees. In addition to his private practice in general and forensic psychiatry since 1990, Dr. Kaplan has been an Affiliate Faculty Member in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of South Florida School of Medicine.
