Elizabeth Spratt Elizabeth Spratt, M.S., F-ABFT is an American forensic toxicologist. She is certified as a Fellow of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology (ABFT). 

Career

Spratt has worked as a forensic toxicology consultant providing services in criminal and civil cases since January 2000 through her company Forensic Toxicology Services. She has served as an inspector for workplace drug testing programs, the U.S. Department of Defense, and ABFT laboratories. Spratt was the Director of Toxicology for the Westchester County Department of Laboratories and Research from January 2006 to January 2019. Prior to that, she worked at the same department as Chief of Toxicological Services from August 1990 to December 2005 and as a Senior Toxicologist from October 1986 to August 1990. Earlier in her career, Spratt worked as a Research Scientist in pharmaceutical development at Ortho Pharmaceutical Corporation from November 1981 to October 1986. She also served as a Technical Supervisor of toxicology and special chemistry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania from April 1978 to October 1981 and as a Toxicologist at The Upjohn Company from September 1974 to April 1978 and the Allegheny County Coroner's Office from May 1972 to September 1974. 

Education 

Spratt holds a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology/Toxicology from Duquesne University, where her thesis was titled "Interfering Compounds in Urine Screening for Drugs." She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Duquesne University. 

Certifications 

In addition to being a Fellow of the ABFT, Spratt is a Diplomate and Forensic Toxicology Specialist certified by the ABFT. She is a Toxicological Chemist certified by the National Registry of Certified Chemists. Spratt holds certifications for blood and urine alcohol analysis and as a breath analysis operator from the New York State Department of Health for various breath testing instruments. Professional Activities Spratt has been a member of the ABFT Board of Directors and has served on committees for organizations such as the New York State Crime Laboratory Advisory Committee, Society of Forensic Toxicologists, American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and the Scientific Working Group for Toxicology. Publications Her published works include journal articles on fatalities involving accidental ingestion of Pine-Sol and the veterinary anesthetic Telazol, as well as a book chapter on LC/MS with a particle beam interface in forensic toxicology. Presentations Spratt has given numerous presentations and lectures on topics in forensic toxicology to professional groups, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, schools, and community organizations.
