He is also a Volunteer Assistant Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio since August 2008. He holds the position of Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, School of Medicine, Louisville, Kentucky, University of Louisville since January 2005. He was the Consultant to reorganize and restart Cardiac Research program from 1999 to 2001 at TriHealth. He is the former President of Emergency Care Associates, Audubon Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky from January 1991 to October 1991. He was affiliated with McGrath Health Center, Bethesda North and Good Samaritan Hospitals. His research focuses on Emergency Medicine Clinical Practice, Trauma care including blood transfusion, head trauma, aero-medical transport, and intubation, Epidemiology and its implications for management of healthcare organizations and Public health and its interface with management of private healthcare organizations. He is a member of Association of University Programs in Health Administration, American Academy of Emergency Medicine, American Public Health Association, Kentucky Public Health Association, Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and Southern Medical Association. Dr. Hooker is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Ohio and Kentucky.
