Dr. Douglas Kent Holmes, M.D., F.A.C.S, F.A.A.O. is an otolaryngology expert witness from North Carolina. He has an active medical practitioner’s license from the state of North Carolina, Florida and is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He completed his B.S. in Chemistry in 1976 from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and then earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1980 from the same University. He further pursued his internship in General Surgery in 1981 and residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 1985 from the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. He also completed his fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology in 1990 from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Centre. His military experience comprises of working as an otolaryngologist from 1985 to 1989 for the Department of Defense in Alaska. Currently, Dr. Holmes is an ENT-otolaryngologist at WakeMed Health and Hospitals-Raleigh Campus, UNC Rex Hospital. He also maintains his private practice at Raleigh, North Carolina. He has numerous publications to his credit. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Otolaryngology since 2012 and 2013.
