Following medical school, Dr. Brown completed his internship at Tulane University School of Medicine at Charity Hospital of New Orleans in 1969. He then served at the U.S. Naval Hospital in the Philippines in 1971 and at a U.S. Naval Hospital in Quantico, Virginia in 1972. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in 1974 and went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at the University of Connecticut in 1976.
