He further earned his Doctorate in Public Health in 1982 from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Currently, Dr. Deapen is the Professor of Preventive Medicine in the Division of Epidemiology at Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Dr. Deapen has additional expertise in cancer, cancer epidemiology and breast implants.
