Earlier in his career, he worked at Triodyne, Inc. as a Mechanical Engineering Safety and Design Consultant from 1985 to 2005 and as an Assistant Mechanical Engineering Safety and Design Consultant from 1983 to 1984.
Mr. Brickman earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 1989 and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Duke University in 1984. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, New Jersey, and New York.

His areas of practice include mechanical engineering systems, accident analysis and reconstruction, human factors and ergonomics, safety engineering, risk assessment, product safety, experimental testing, failure analysis, warnings and instructions, and safety standards research. Throughout his career, he has provided expert testimony in product liability, premises liability, class action, patent, and intellectual property matters in state and federal courts. He has also authored numerous peer-reviewed technical publications, chaired engineering and human factors conference sessions, and participated in professional organizations including ASME, ASSP, NSPE, ISPE, ISA, and ISOES.
