Dr. Dean Joseph Wickel, M.D. is a thoracic and cardiac surgery expert witness from West Virginia. He has physician’s licenses from the states of Kentucky and West Virginia and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Wickel completed his Bachelor of Science in 1989 from the University of Notre Dame and then earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1993 from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He further completed his internship and residency at the University of Louisville, followed by his fellowship at the University of Tennessee. Currently, Dr. Wickel is the Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the West Virginia University, School of Medicine as well as the Medical Director of Vascular Surgery at Wheeling Hospital.
