Dr. Herman J. Gibb, Ph.D., B.S., M.P.H. is an epidemiologist based in Providence, Rhode Island. He did his Bachelors from Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts in 1975. Then He completed his Masters from Department of Preventive Medicine, Columbus, Ohio in 1978. He earned his Ph.D. in Epidemiology from University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health in 1982. He holds the position of Professor of Epidemiology in the Brown University School of Public Health, with joint appointments in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics in the Alpert Medical School. His epidemiological research has addressed a wide range of public health issues focusing on health effects of environmental agents in the workplace and community and a wide range of reproductive health outcomes. He has done extensive work on health effects of nonionizing radiation, pesticides, drinking water treatment by-products, and perfluorinated compounds. His reproductive health research has focused on preterm birth, fetal growth restriction, pregnancy complications, and miscarriage. He is a fellow of American College of Epidemiology. He has also memberships in American Public Health Association, Society for Epidemiologic Research, International Epidemiological Association Society for Pediatric and Perinatal Epidemiologic Research and Delta Omega, Theta Chapter The Honorary Public Health Society. He has served as editor at the American Journal of Epidemiology and Epidemiology and as a member of the Epidemiology and Disease Control study section of the National Institutes of Health.
