David Leon Braff

David Leon Braff, M.D. is a board certified in Psychiatry specialist in San Diego, California. He has more than 48 years of experience in medical profession. He is Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry, and Director of the Schizophrenia Program at the Department of Psychiatry, University of California San Diego School of Medicine. He is also Director and Lead Scientist of the NIH-funded multi-site Consortium on the Genetics of Schizophrenia (COGS). He trained at the University of Pennsylvania, Yale University, and the University of California, San Francisco. In 1966, he has completed his B. S. Degree from Union College, Schenectady, New York. He earned his medical degree from School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1970. From 1970 to 1971, he completed his Internship from Children's Hospital, San Francisco, California. He completed his residency from Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut from 1971 to 1972. He completed his Postdoctoral Fellow and Resident II & III and Chief Resident from the Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco; and Langley Porter Neuropsychiatric Institute, San Francisco, California from 1972 to 1974. He is Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He had license in the State of California.
