Darlene A. Tando, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with more than two decades of experience in psychotherapy and clinical practice. Ms. Tando has served as a therapist and case manager in multiple treatment settings, including the Naval Medical Center San Diego and the San Diego Center for Children, where she provided diagnostic assessments, individual and family therapy, and program-level case management. Earlier in her career, she completed internships in child abuse treatment and county mental health outpatient services.

She has presented at gender-related conferences nationwide, co-developed a training symposium titled “TransYouth Care,” and authored The Conscious Parent’s Guide to Gender Identity (2016). Her professional recognition includes awards from the National Association of Social Workers, Equality California, and the transgender community.

Ms. Tando holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
