Daniel R. Kender is a traffic crash reconstruction specialist and law enforcement professional with experience in accident investigation, digital forensics, and technical instruction. He completed the Police Officer Basic Training Course at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1993, graduating as an honor graduate. His additional technical training includes coursework in evidence processing, fingerprint identification, crash investigation, vehicle dynamics, traffic accident reconstruction, and crash data retrieval through institutions such as the Northwest Indiana Law Enforcement Training Center, the Northwestern University Traffic Institute, and the Institute of Police Technology and Management.

Mr. Kender has served with the Hammond, Indiana Police Department since 1993. During his tenure, he worked as an Evidence Technician processing crime scenes, including homicide investigations, and later as a Traffic Crash Investigator, where he investigated more than 2,000 crashes and conducted over 200 drunk driving arrests. In 1999, he became an Accident Reconstructionist and has reconstructed more than 100 crashes, including investigations involving fatalities and serious injuries.

He has also served as a State Certified Law Enforcement Instructor, teaching traffic crash investigation at the Northwest Indiana Law Enforcement Training Center and the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. From 2000 to 2008, he assisted in more than 300 crash reconstructions with Stephan M. Neese & Associates. Since 2008, he has operated Kender Technologies, Inc., providing services in traffic crash reconstruction, digital forensics, and software development related to crash reconstruction and data analysis.

In addition to his investigative and technical work, Mr. Kender has held academic appointments. He served as an Adjunct Instructor at Purdue University Calumet teaching courses in computer networking, information assurance, and application programming. Since August 2021, he has served as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Olivet Nazarene University.
