Dr. Christopher Pearson Ames, M.D. is a neurosurgery expert witness from California. After completing his scondary schooling from Landon School, he completed his B.A. from Dartmouth College and then earned his M.D. in 1994 from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He further completed his internship and residency at the University of California, San Diego and his fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute. He has a physician's license from the state of California and is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
Currently, Dr. Ames is the Professor of Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery at the UCSF Medical Center and a Spine Section Lead Editor Operative Neurosurgery in Operative Neurosurgery. Additionally, he serves as the UCSF site director for the International Spinal Deformity Study Group and the AO Scoli-Risk Study and is the Director of Spinal Deformity and Spine Tumor Surgery and is also the Co-director of the Combined High Risk Spine Service, the Neuro Spinal Disorders Program and the UCSF Spine Center.
