Dr. Christa Salamandra, D. Phil., is an accomplished anthropologist and academic expert with a rich background in Middle Eastern studies and social anthropology. She earned her B.A. magna cum laude from New York University in 1986, followed by an M.A. in Anthropology from NYU in 1992, and a D. Phil. from the University of Oxford in 2001.

Dr. Salamandra currently serves as a Professor and Deputy Chair of the Department of Anthropology at Lehman College, City University of New York, where she has held various positions since 2004. She also directs the Master's Program in Middle Eastern Studies at the Graduate Center, CUNY, and has held visiting academic positions in Sweden and the UK. With expertise in human rights and peace studies, Dr. Salamandra has contributed significantly to the academic community, both in the classroom and through her leadership roles.
