Cheng Chen

Cheng Chen is an attorney whose practice focuses on international commercial arbitration, cross-border dispute resolution, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, joint ventures, distribution agreements, franchise agreements, and corporate compliance. He serves as Senior Partner and Supervisor at Hui Ye Law Firm and as Of Counsel and Head of the China Desk at Kellerhals Carrard. He is also Co-Head of Hui Ye's Cross-border Investment and International Commercial Dispute Resolution Practice Group and Automobile and Intelligent Manufacturing Practice Group. He earned both his Bachelor of Law and Master of Law degrees from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and is admitted to the PRC Bar.
With experience spanning more than two decades, Chen has represented multinational corporations, foreign-invested enterprises, state-owned enterprises, and private companies in international arbitrations and commercial disputes before institutions including ICC, SIAC, HKIAC, and CIETAC. His work also includes advising clients on corporate governance, compliance, cross-border investments, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial transactions involving Europe, the Americas, Africa, and China. In addition to his legal practice, he serves on arbitration and mediation panels, has held leadership roles in professional organizations, teaches in an LL.M. program, and has authored publications on international arbitration, foreign investment, commercial law, and cross-border legal issues.
