Carol L. Armstrong, Ph.D., A.B.P.N. is a board certified clinical and research neuropsychologist in the Philadelphia region. She has more than 35 years of experience in neuropsychological evaluation of the individual adult and child, and in original research. Her work includes both civil and criminal cases requiring a neuropsychological evaluation. Her clinical and research experience includes head injury (neurological versus psychological injury), autoimmune disorders, neuro-oncology neurological disorders and diseases, and stroke, effects of radiation on the brain across the lifespan, dementia, effects of environmental toxins on cognition, emotion, and behavior, and effects of alcohol and drug addiction on neuropsychological function. She completed her B.A. in Psychology at Vassar College, New York from 1971 to 1975. Then, she completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at The Wright Institute (Berkeley), California from 1976 to 1981. Then, she completed her fellowship in Neuropsychology at the Western Reserve Psychiatric Habilitation Center, Northfield, Ohio from 1981 to 1982. Further, she completed her Fellowship in Neuropsychology, Ohio Industrial Commission, Rehabilitation Division, Dept. of Health Psychology, Columbus, Ohio from 1982 to 1983. She is an elected Fellow of Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Psychological Association, Society of Clinical Neuropsychology, The National Academy of Neuropsychology and The American College of Professional Neuropsychology. She is also the editor of the Handbook of Medical Neuropsychology: Applications of Cognitive Neuroscience, which features the most up-to-date information on cognitive neuroscience to enhance the work of the practitioner, the student, or the researcher.
