Dr. Anthony Almon Abbott, Ph.D., is an exercise science and fitness expert with more than 45 years of experience in physical fitness instruction, personal training, and fitness facility management. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, followed by master's degrees from Florida State University and Florida International University. He later completed a doctorate at Florida Atlantic University. 

Mr. Abbott currently serves as the President of Fitness Institute International, Inc., where he provides instruction, training, and consulting in exercise science, fitness facility management, and emergency medical response. He also has more than 40 years of experience as an instructor and trainer for the American Heart Association, specializing in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC).

In addition to his leadership and teaching roles, Mr. Abbott is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). He has served as a presenter and examiner for ACSM certification programs and has authored textbook chapters addressing fitness industry standards and legal issues. He also served for eight years as the editor of "The Legal Aspects" column in ACSM's Health & Fitness Journal, where his work primarily focused on industry standards, safety practices, and legal considerations within the fitness profession.
