As the founder and primary researcher for Tattoohistorian.com, she has made significant contributions to the field of tattoo history. Her previous experience includes the Coordinator II for Data, Enrollment, and Recruitment at Proviso Township High Schools D209 in 2021, following a role as a Data Analyst there. From 2014 to 2018, she worked as the Product/Operations Manager and Communications Director at MyBodyGallery.com, and she was the Proprietor of Anna Friedman Communications and Data. Dr. Friedman’s curatorial work includes serving as the Curatorial Director for the exhibition “TATTOO: Ancient Myths, Modern Meanings” at Quatrefoil Associates. Additionally, she has held teaching roles at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Chicago, including a position as a Lecturer in the Humanities Core at the latter institution. Her early career involved significant contributions as an Assistant Curator at the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum and as a Teaching Consultant at the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Chicago.
