Anita Linder Caref

Anita Linder Caref is an educator and literacy specialist with more than four decades of experience in elementary education, adult education, curriculum development, and teacher training. Her professional work centers on reading, writing, language acquisition, and early childhood development, with an emphasis on evidence-based instructional methods and literacy outcomes for diverse student populations. 

Her academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a master’s degree in English and Language and Literacy, and multiple certifications in reading instruction, bilingual education (Spanish), early childhood development, and Evidence-Based Reading Instruction. Over the course of her career, she has taught at the elementary, secondary, postsecondary, and adult education levels, including university coursework in early childhood education and development. 

She spent several years with City Colleges of Chicago as an Adult Education Language Arts and Reading Specialist, where she authored curricula for Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency programs that are now implemented system-wide across multiple campuses. Her work also included professional development for educators and administrators, classroom co-teaching, and curriculum implementation support. Earlier roles included directing adult literacy programs, supervising educators, managing federally and privately funded initiatives, and developing literacy curricula for ESL, GED, and family literacy programs. Her experience includes instructional leadership, program administration, and literacy curriculum design relevant to education-related matters.
