Dr. Andrew Jonathan Ghio, M.D. is a pulmonary medicine expert with experience in environmental public health, pulmonary medicine, and clinical research. He earned his B.S. in Psychology from Boston College in 1977 and received his M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine in 1981. Dr. Ghio completed an internship in internal medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Medical Center, followed by residencies in internal medicine at Mercy Hospital and occupational medicine at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. He later completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine and public health training at the University of Utah.

Dr. Ghio has also completed additional academic study in statistics and chemistry at Duke University and molecular biology at the University of North Carolina.

Currently, Dr. Ghio serves as a Medical Officer with the Clinical Research Branch of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory. He is also an Associate Consulting Professor of Medicine at Duke University and a Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of North Carolina.
