Aníbal Pérez-Liñán is a political scientist whose work focuses on comparative democratization, political institutions, executive-legislative relations, judicial politics, and human rights compliance, with an emphasis on Latin America. He is a Professor of Political Science and Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame, where he also serves as Director of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. His roles at Notre Dame include Co-Principal Investigator of the Reparations Design and Compliance Lab and faculty fellow of the Klau Center for Civil and Human Rights and the Pulte Institute for Global Development.

Earlier in his career, he served on the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh, progressing from Assistant to Full Professor and holding appointments such as Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Political Science. He has been editor of the Kellogg Series on Democracy and Development since 2018 and previously served as Editor in Chief of the Latin American Research Review.

Pérez-Liñán’s publications include books with Cambridge University Press and extensive peer-reviewed work addressing regime change, presidential instability, constitutional design, judicial behavior, and compliance within the Inter-American human rights system. His research draws on historical, institutional, and comparative methods, and his scholarship has received recognition from disciplinary associations. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame and a B.A. from Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires.
