Dr. Adam Matthew Brufsky, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.P. is a physician based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is board certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. He did his graduation from University of Connecticut School of Medicine in the year 1990. Before pursuing his medical education he also completed his Undergraduate studies in Chemistry from Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH in the year 1983. He did his internship and residency in internal medicine from Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA. He did his fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA in the year 1995. He also did an additional fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplantation from the same institution. He is the professor of medicine at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine and also serves as the associate division chief for the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine's Department of Medicine. Dr. Brufsky is the medical director of the Magee-Women's Cancer Program, part of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center; associate director for clinical investigations at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center; and co-director of the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center. He manages around 30 clinical trials investigating various aspects of breast cancer etiology and treatment. He is a member of American Medical Association, Massachusetts Medical Society, American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research, Allegheny County Medical Society, Pennsylvania Medical Society and Pennsylvania Oncologic Society. He is the recipient of Excellence in Innovative Clinical Trial Development by University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute in 2002 and Vision of Hope Award by Astra-Zeneca Oncology in 2003. He was also named as America's Top Doctors (2005 – 2014) by Castle Connolly Corporation. In 2011, he was awarded with Merill J. Egorin Excellence in Scientific Leadership Award and in 2014 with PNC Bank/UPCI Director's Distinguished Scholar Award by University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Pennsylvania.
