Dr. Aaron Y. Zelin, Ph.D., is a distinguished expert in the fields of Middle Eastern studies and counterterrorism. He completed his Ph.D. in War Studies at King's College London in 2017, following an M.A. in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies from Brandeis University in 2010 and a B.A. in Political Science and Near Eastern Languages and Cultures from Indiana University Bloomington in 2008. Currently, Dr. Zelin serves as a Levy Fellow at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy and a Visiting Research Scholar in the Department of Politics at Brandeis University. He is also an Expert Witness for the U.S. Department of Justice and the Founder of Jihadology, a leading platform on jihadist movements. His role as a Contributing Writer for The Adversarial Newsletter and his involvement with various academic and policy institutions underscore his expertise. Additionally, he has been a lecturer at the Foreign Service Institute and has held significant roles with the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism and the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation.
