He completed his Bachelor of Science in 1981 and then earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 1983 from the State University of New York at the Stony Brook School of Medicine. He has competed residency in 1988 and fellowship in 1990 from the State University of New York, Stony Brook University Hospital and the Ohio State University Hospital respectively. Currently, he is Attend at the Morristown Memorial Hospital. He also served as Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, New Jersey and also he is the Clinical Adjunct Professor of Surgery, The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Chevinsky is a Fellow of the American College Of Surgeons and a member of The American Society of Breast Surgeons. He also has been part of several conferences and has several publications to his credit. He resides at New Jersey with his wife Dawn J.
